I have two sets of these black and light gray and I found both to be very soft and I've worn them hiking for several hours with summer weight hiking pants over the top and a hiking shirt and light jacket and been warm when it was 32-37°F. For the price they are a great deal. I would have given them 5 stars but they don't go to my waist on my backside! I'm older and I don't think I have a large bottom. They need to be cut a little bit differently to allow for them to fit perfectly. If you were blessed to have a well rounded bottom you can expect the back will be shy of your waist when you put them on. I don't find it uncomfortable but I wear a back brace when I walk and I wish these fit higher so they would better go under the brace.
