Ordered the Yancorp Dark Brown 24 inch Wide Marble Paper Large Removable Wallpaper Film Self-Adhesive Granite to cover my kitchen table. The first strip went on nice and smooth, however the second strip had a lot of wrinkles in it and they would not smooth out. Also you can't put warm plates on this material. Any area that we have eaten on has some lifting happening because of the plates. We are a very busy household. We do a lot of things at the kitchen table, so having place mats is not an option. Other than the wrinkles from the middle of the role to the end it has held up with grandchild coloring at the table, my adult kids using laptops on the table and just over all heavy use.

When it's delivered rolled up, there are creases that are almost near impossible to completely get rid of which leaves bubbles. Does it look nice? Yes. Did I cuss a lot and find it frustrating to line up? Also yes. When you think you've sanded down the surface perfectly, laugh and do it again like three times.
My bathroom countertop is smaller and I still had to cut it and do it in sections to line it up, so i couldn't imagine doing this on a large island or countertop. Does it seem like it will hold up well? I didn't read a ton of reviews to see if other people used epoxy over it to seal it, but if you can, I would. It's really thin and punctures pretty easily (it wouldn't survive my husband prepping any food on it!).
For $5 it looks great though and I'm just demanding my kids never to spill nail polish on it or splash a ton of water on it because my head hurts just thinking about having to cut out and redo a section. But sure, everyone should try this DIY at least once!

This looks beautiful! I love how it makes my table look(expensive) and I can't stop smiling every time I walk by it. I'm not ready to buy a new table yet cause I love this table, so this adhesive paper made my worn table top, look new.
I took my time, wiped the table down with soapy water and let it dry. Then used a shower squeegee, un rolled slowly and smoothed it down to get it to stick and air back bubbles out. I used a box cutter to cut the corners and sides. I made sure the bottom went ALL the way to the wood brace under the table, smoothing out the air bubbles just like the top, to get it to stick. I did notice that one side of the underside, is coming un done. I re smoothed it and added some Gorilla glue so it stays.
Make sure as you unroll, not to get folds in the paper, it it really sticky!
So far it has stayed and no other issues. It is easy to clean and unless your looking hard for the seams, you don't notice them.

The home we are renting came with plain wood counters, which we got bored of looking at after a year of living here, sooooo we got this contact paper. I probably should have put a strip of it across wood above the drawers, but this definitely was a HUGE IMPROVEMENT. It was a little tedious to apply the contact paper, but i followed the tips in the reviews 1) Measure & crease out the contact paper & 2) peel little by little to avoid as many air bubbles as possible. I've had it for about a month & it gets wet & has had heat on it, but so far so good. It has not unstuck on me. I have some leftover which I might use on other projects, but if I ever ran out I would buy this again. I recommend this if you'd like a change of scenery.
