Bluetooth support when the TV does not have one

We recently switched to a new TV, which was lacking a Bluetooth support. Frankly I was not expecting to miss that on a new set, but things happen. Anyways, the transmitter worked fine, and was able to get very good sound quality out of it (thanks to AptX codec on the Bluetooth side, and optical connection to the TV).
Here are a few concerns:
- The range is not as wide as my older TV. I would say about 20% - 30% loss. However that old range was already more than most of my other devices.
- You need to read the instructions for pairing:
1) Double tap the connection button on the side
2) Wait for the pairing light to change
3) Tap it again
If this does not work, repeat the steps
- I have tested the receiver mode as well, however given I already had Bluetooth on my headset, there was less need for it. Nevertheless it worked fine

I was able to get this working fairly easily and it does a nice job. I have this plugged into the headphone jack of my Receiver with the transceiver set to Transmit. The transceiver comes with multiple plug types so you have
options when it comes to hooking it up for your needs. I'm using it for my home theater so I can use bluetooth headphones. The speech from movies in in sync and pairing the headphones was pretty easy (MPOW headphones). I
intially was trying to connect using the Toslink optical audio cable but was not able to get the devices to pair correctly. Overall for this price it's hard to go wrong. Recommended.

This is the second type of Bluetooth transmitter/receiver and it behaves very similarly as what I am used to. From doing a little research, it seems most use the same chipset that this one has, which is a good one. This has done a good job overall for me for about 85% of all the applications I tried (I tried 4 of the most popular streaming platforms to transmit audio from my TV to wireless headphones and some other, very much less popular ones). I did notice some latency with another streaming app on my TV (not one of the main ones) so I think it could just be the app itself and not this transceiver. I say that because it has done well with all the others but I think the app itself could be causing the delay. Nonetheless, I hardly ever use that app so I am happy with it overall. Whenever I try that streaming channel again, I'll update if there are different results.
Something that I did want to use this for was to hook up a Bluetooth headset to my laptop to use for conference calls but this only does either transmitting or receiving at once and not both. I had hoped I could figure out a way to have it do both but it seems that is a constraint that cannot be circumvented. Nonetheless, it has worked well for me to stream movies/shows that I like while my family watches something else and neither of us is bothered. It is also nice to use if it is late.
I would recommend checking this out as well as the other ones that use the same chipset as that seems to be quite important. I am happy with this overall.

This product is one of a number of identical products with different brand names that are on the market today. It does what it is supposed to, which is a lot: Bluetooth transmitting or receiving, with different audio connection options. It connects to my iPhone with AAC, has decent enough range to work in my house as I walk around the floor it is on, and sounds fine. You will need to amplify the source and/or the speakers more than you are used to, but, all in all, it works just fine. It does not come with a power adapter, however, which is annoying and adds to the cost of the product.

You can also use this the other direction like making a speaker a bluetooth wireless speaker but changing the settings from transmit to receive.
