First he knocked a few balls off the tee, then his teenaged brother pitched to him and he never missed! Within the hour he was throwing them up and hitting by himself. This kid's a natural and we may have missed the gift if not for this set. It's well made, easy to carry to the park. He even liked stashing it all back in the box and taking it to the car when it was getting dark. Even though it says 3 and up, don't delay, put that bat in a child's hands today!
