This is an excellent ring light for the price. Out of the box, my first impression was that this will be very well liked by those who just want a ring light that just works. This light has everything I need. It plugs right into a regular wall outlet (110 VAC) and the ON/OFF button doubles as a light intensity dial. SUPER EASY TO USE! The light is set to the color temperature in which I normally record: 5500 Kelvin (Daylight), and comes with two sets of diffusers to soften the light: white and tungsten (orange-y) colors. I thought that the tungsten color would be too drab, but it is actually a really nice colour. I love that it comes with a case, stand, adapters, etc.!

I will start by saying that this light was exactly as pictured, really easy to set up initially, and functions exactly as described. That said, I was a little bit disappointed in the tone of the white light filter as it is a little bit on the cool side for my taste, and then the Amber sort of filter is a little bit to yellow so you have to make a decision to either have slightly blue light or a little too Golden for my taste. However for the money I feel like if you're trying to get started on a YouTube channel or take really good well lit, close-up pictures as a amateur or novice, this is a really great intro to ring lights in general. I am also an artist and illustrator and have use this light turned downward towards my workstation to light process videos and speed drawing videos for my YouTube channel with great success, although it is a little bit cumbersome for that use, if you're wanting a decent all purpose light this light is very inexpensive and can be used Many different ways with varying degrees of success. If you are more of an advanced photographer or YouTube or looking to replace something like the diva ring this probably isn't the light for you, but if you're someone trying to get your foot in the door without spending a fortune this is a really good place to start in my opinion. All in all I would say that I recommend this light for certain people, And that I definitely would purchase again for the specific uses I have described.

seriously out of no where the cord stopped working. It's stationary in my room and it just quit turning on my light and the led on adapter doesn't turn on. I can't find the correct cord anywhere. It's a 2 pin connector & I need the adapter, that's all I know. I did end up re- wiring the ac to the adapter and it worked but I'm not skilled- it worked fine but I had to keep messing with it and cut the wires to adapter too short (it's a mess) so basically I need a new adapter. I emailed the manufacturer- no response. I shouldn't have to rewire my power cord lmao I could get by with just purchasing an adapter and wiring again BUT, can't I just not. And they email me back telling me hey go here and click this and buy that. I don't have a soldering iron to fix the one I got.. Im surprised I can even spell that. I looked it up but still.

My review is based upon the initial opening and set-up along with a few uses since we've had it. It comes very well packaged. The case is nice and protects the ring, the power supply and the other set of diffuser lenses. The ring is made of plastic. Which makes it nice and light (not heavy), but you need to respect the light ring and not bang it around too much. You have the option of the bare bulbs, the white diffuser click on plastic covers and a yellow/orange plastic clip on diffuser. I found the white to be too harsh (the color temperature is too high for our warmer tones we like in our productions), but the yellow ones were very good. This ring is an 18 inch ring - so it is not tiny!. It provides an excellent light pattern, with good fill, little to no shadows and a very even light across the image. I used a Panasonic HC-WXF991K video camera for the tests and was impressed. The tripod is a bit on the weak side with some light gauge metal on the leg supports, but since I already plan on being more gentle than normal with it. I fully expect it to last for years. The light ring slides over the post of the tripod, a set screw with a nice handle makes it easy to tighten. I was worried it would wobble all around. It didn't. Easy on and off. The power supply has a nice 10 ft cord so I do not need to string an extension cord when using it. The intensity (brightness) control on the light is nice. It appears to be smooth and even when going up and down the range. For the close up work I do, I am found I was near to the lowest setting and the light pattern and intensity was excellent.

The attachments for mounting the camera or phone into the ring were well made. two types of heads and when I used the ball mount I was able to easily twist, rotate and angle the video camera with no movement after I tightened it into place.

Why the downgrade on the sturdiness. Like I have said it is all plastic construction and I can't speak to how well it will last with less than a month of use behind me. The tripod metal is thin and flexes pretty easily. I wanted everyone to be sure I was not confident in the sturdiness. If it takes the beatings well, I'll gladly come back and upgrade the rating.

Overall, I like it. I may buy a second one so I can keep one by both my shooting locations. The price was excellent. If you are new to this, trying out how to modify your lighting, just getting started in close-up work or YouTube, this is worth a look and a purchase.

I work for a video company and shoot video and photography outside of work and I am happy to add this to my collection of equipment. The light does not have battery power so it does need to be in an area with power. The power cord is long enough to reach roughly 6 feet away. I really like that the power locks in because is common for the weight of the power brick to pull out the power plug in lights on a stand. The stand is really tall. I am about 6ft and for use of the ring light for a self portrait I would use about the full length of the first bar. You still have two more extensions for any other needed height. The diffusion for the light is great but they are simple plastic clip ons. The orange/warm filter does not have very good diffusion however. The Camera or phone mounts via a hotshoe adapter on the light. The phone holder is only landscape however with the ball head you can make it vertical but it wont be centered with the light. There is other hotshoe options you can buy to achieve vertical phone usage with this light.

I think the people who will benefit from this light the most will be people who make social media from home for example Live streamers and tiktokers. I will be using it for in studio portraits and video as well as lightstreaming.

For the value and the size of this ring light I think its a great purchase option. I think if you are willing to spend a little more you can get some other light with more versatility such as RGB or battery power. However this is at a great price and covers all the basics when you are searching for a ring light.
