I would be nuts to nutt writze rear e viu. It took a while to use the nut cracker as I was travelling in a dry dessert during a rain storm. It worked perfect - not a grain of sand during a wind storm winding down and down and down. I love the unit.

I use this nutcracker gently after seeing the reviews that mention breakage after a few uses. I havent exoerienced any breakage. My parents had a flat basket filled with various nuts on their coffee table with a nutcracker that looked line a crabcracker. This nutcracker would be good for that use, only a few nuts in a sitting. I would not use this nutcracker to process any quantity of nuts because it needs to be adjusted frequently if the size of the nuts change. I have some walnuts that are too small for this cracker.
The size of the cracker is smaller than expected. I attached 5 photos. One with my hand, and the other with an average sized tea spoon for size comparison; a photo showing the walnuts that are too small (even after adjusting the ends as close as they can go toward each other). I also attached a photo of a walnut ready to be cracked end to end, and the whole halves that the cracker leaves you with. The cracker has a short throw, or a small amount of movement with the arm. This cracker does produce nice full nut halves without breakage.

There is a bolt on one end that screws in or out to adjust to the size of the nut. It is too wide to crack an almond from the side, they have to be cracked longways. If you have a bunch of different sized nuts (like one might during the holidays), you have to adjust the opening every time to get the nutcracker to work. If you adjust is just so, the nut will explode in all directions when cracked. My children think this is really funny and like to do it over and over.
I got this nutcracker because my mother-in-law has a problem with hand strength, and I thought she would be able to use this item. It turns out my mother-in-law has no interest in cracking nuts no matter how easy it is to use the machine. My kids love it, but then they don't want to eat the nuts, and getting them to clean up the mess after cracking is more trouble than it's worth. I'm going to buy a regular nutcracker for myself.
