This is a well-made climbing equipment that played a huge role in my last climb. If I use ATC when I grab the rope in panic, I wouldn't be here to tell you this story.
It will allow for a proper rappel descent by applying more or less pressure to the handle, neither completely depressing nor completely releasing the handle that will only make you immobile. We all make mistakes, but in climbing a mistake can be deadly. This is an extra barrier of safety, recommend.

This is a very poorly designed device. For those who say it works so well I say that's absolute rubbish the device can't work or Caribbean gets in the way of the handle fight with the Rope it's it's junk should be ashamed of themselves people could seriously be injured or die using this piece of crap period

I first brought these around my rope sport communities and aslo hung a ito-rocky foot loop which through the bottom hole to get a leg up and save energy. I'm using it with 12mm rope and don't have any issues at all with it slipping .
I used petzl ascender before and I think they work just as well in every way.They they are working by the same principle. I can predict it is an absolutely solid piece of equipment.Recommend.

I like this decender, but it's a little to loud for hunting applications. But I do practice with it and keep it in my SRT kit.

I use this this descender exclusively for rappelling down a 100 ft 45 degree hill to a river bank to cut down trees along the way and access a remote area. I use 10 mm static line (not hanging or climbing) with full climbing gear. Have used about 2 dozen times so Far with no issues.
