I bought these to replace my ancient Keen cycling sandals which were starting to fall apart. These are superior in most ways with the one big exception being that the plate in the sole to which the cleat is secured cannot be replaced. This means that when the plate finally rusts out (which happened to my *really* old Shimano cycling sandals) the sandals need to be tossed - or used simply for walking.
The Speedplay Frog cleats protrude very slightly from the sole, making a sound on pavement with every step. The Keen sandals were a bit more recessed, so rubber always hit the road.
Otherwise, I am quite happy with these sandals.

My Keen SPD sandals were my favorite. They finally wore out and Keen discontinued making them. I found these on Amazon for a reasonable price and decided to give them a try. They are a good replacement for my KEENS. I'm very happy with my purchase.
