Couldnt tell a difference vs the classic III

I bought this because I am hard of hearing and could barley make out anything with the classic III. However, I cannot appreciate any more sounds with this stethoscope. Perhaps if one goes into cardiology this will make sense. However if you are a student I would pass on this and just get the classic III or the electric one if you are nearly deaf.

My husband bought me this stethoscope as my gift for getting into the nursing program. I have heard stories of people having a hard time hearing but this one is AMAZING! I haven't had any issues. I can hear breath sounds and heart sounds very clear. Highly recommend!

Nursing student here. I was warned against buying this off Amazon, but since the store listed here is 3M, I thought it would be fine. Well, it seems fine, but the box was not sealed with any stickers or tape. So I will never know if this is a return or defective or something. Everything looks clean, but that's as much as I can attest too.
The tubing does catch a little. But I think there's something on it to help with cleaning, so that's fine. The sounds I was able to pick up easily rival and surpass the cheep (relatively) model I purchased for my CNA class. It should, so I'm glad it does.
It seems sturdy, even if there is a little play in the mechanics when I turn to or from the bell. I tried it out on my baby, and I could hear breathing and that little heart pretty well. I don't know enough to know if the unit is real or not and that will probably bug me until I get another one. I'd have felt a lot better if the package were sealed with holographic tape from Littmann. Just FYI 3M/Amazon/whoever does these things.
