Appears to be good quality silicone. The original nose pad assembly is a hard plastic pad/post with a silicone cover over the plastic pad. These are 100% semi-soft silicone. Regardless, these work well, are comfortable and look integral to the Whisker.

Installation went smoothly. Once installed, the press fit seems strong enough to be reliable. I was prepared to take these to an optical shop and pay for the installation. I didn't want to risk damage by doing it myself. After careful examination however, it turned out to be pretty straight forward.

Step one: if it's still there, peel off the original silicone pad attached to the plastic nose piece. Doing so will give you a bit more space to work.

Step two: gently wiggle the nose pad inward and away from the lens. This will expose the plastic nose pad post that press fits into the frame.

Step three: Using sharp micro wire cutters or very small standard wire cutters, clip the post between the nose pad and frame. The nose pad will fall off. Example of micro cutters: Search Amazon with the folliwng ASIN number: B00FZPDG1K. Just about any wire cutters will work as long as they are sharp and you're able access the post easily. Sharpness of the cutter blade is important. A clean cut will prevent the post from flaring while being cut. If it flares, it may be more difficult to remove the remnant of the post from the frame.

Step four: if a piece of the plastic nose pad post is still in the frame, push it out towards the lens with a wood tooth pick or very small optical screw driver. A tooth pick is preferred given that if you slip, the lens won't be scratched.

Step five: the replacement nose pads are omnidirectional. They are symetrical and do not need to be installed in a certain direction or side. Gently work them into the frame where the post was press fit into originally. Make sure the nub at the end of the new post snaps into place.

Step six: sit back and admire your handiwork.

Tip: prior to doing this, it helped to examine the original nose pad under magnification, where it press fits into the frame. Knowing how the original was installed helped with removing it and installing the new pad. There appears to be a small retaining screw on one side of the hole where the nose piece press fits into. I didn't see anything that would indicate that it is a screw. It appears to be a nub that is probably for the purpose of helping to retain the nose pads.

The original nose pads seemed to have a metal center piece, these seem to be all plastic, but they work. They were difficult to remove and install. A set of needle nose pliers helped.

Got these nose pads to replace the ones on my eyeglasses and they're the perfect fit. They great-quality in that they're soft and comfortable on your nose, has a clear, clean look yet it's rigid enough not to feel cheap and flimsy. My previous replacements had a foggy look with a hole on the bottom that gets easily dirty. These nose pads are great quality and makes my eyeglasses look new. They come with 2 nose pieces inside a small zip pouch which is nice for storage. Installation was easy and fits my eyeglasses perfectly. Great eye glasses nose pad replacements!

Easy to install replacements parts for the rubber pads at the bridge of the nose. Soft and comfortable fit and easy to install, just a pair of needle nose pliers a ittle squeeze and they pop right in.
