A Comforting Hug for Tired Calves!

The Rockay Blaze are my first experience with compression sleeves, and I am very happy with them. Quite simply, they make my legs feel good"”I mean really good. So good, in fact, that I forgot to take them off after hiking in them all afternoon and only realized hours later that I was still wearing them! (I later read on a backpacking blog that compression sleeves can help with recovery after a hike, so perhaps it was a good thing that I kept them on.)

The sleeves feel wonderfully supportive and they stay in place like a dream, with no shifting or bunching. I appreciate the warm, hugging sensation on my tired calves. When I first put them on, I thought the ankle band might be on the tight side, but then I realized that I hadn't pulled up the sleeve high enough; after readjusting, they were fine. I ordered the medium, which fits calves measuring 13.1 to 15 inches around at their widest, and they felt true to size.

The Blaze come stylishly packaged in a variety of cool, trendy colors (I chose the cheery orange ones). They are well made, and I think they would make a great gift for runners or hikers, as well as for long-distance air travelers. Being small and light, these sleeves will pack easily. Amazon was a couple of days late with my delivery, but I'll chalk that up to the busy holiday season. I'm definitely looking forward to wearing my Rockay sleeves on my next hike!
These Are...........OK

The tightness is pretty decent on these. Great for shin splints and calf compression. Great to use while running. However, I can tell that they will eventually fall apart due to the material quality.

These were wonderful! The shipping was very quick, and they came the day the website said. They come in a neat black box"”very professional looking and not cheap feeling at all. It was really easy to open"”no scissors needed"”and they include a blurb on how they tested the sleeves and the benefits of wearing them on the back of the box.
I was surprised and enchanted by the construction of these sleeves. The material feels really strong and durable. I love the design on the sleeves, too. I bought the black/blue ones. I wish there were a black/purple. The design isn't too crazy and the colors pop. I know they will last for years if I follow the care instructions on the packaging.
I ordered a medium. I wore the sleeves all day. They fit comfortably on my left leg, but I think my right leg is slightly fatter, because it felt tight at the top. Also, my calves must be shorter than average, as the top of the sleeves could be stretched over my knees. However, despite the size difference in my body, I found them quite comfortable. I have worn compression leggings and socks before, and always felt super sweaty with them on. Not with these sleeves, though! Also, I was nice and warm out in the cold, frigid winter.
Comfortable with Support

These Rockay calf compression sleeves are the first compression sleeves I have used for my calves exclusively, and I found them to be comfortable, and they provided excellent support while running and hiking. The sleeves are made from multifilament polyamide, polyamide, and elastane, the seams are barely in existence which helped the comfort aspect, and though they fit tightly as they ought to, they never chafed and were breathable.

Usage:

I used them straight out of the box for a five-mile run on pavement. I hate running in tights/pants and usually wear shorts no matter the weather. It was wet, rainy, and cold and the compression sleeves were a perfect compliment to my shorts. They got wet but were never uncomfortable, and when I got home, they dried in less than an hour. During the run, they did control the shaking, which is supposed to help with soreness, but as this was a fairly easy run, I only noticed that they helped keep my legs warm and were comfortable.

The real test was the next day when I decided on an eight-mile trail run. It was raining again, and the trail was wet and muddy. Because of the Pacific Northwest terrain, there was a lot of jarring and up and down. Usually, a good incline trail run will create a certain amount of soreness the next day in my calves and thighs, and though there was soreness, my calves were in considerably better shape than my thighs the next day. Again, despite the longer run and the different conditions, I found them to be comfortable, and they continued not to chafe.

Care:

They were a bit muddy when I got home from the trail run, and though it says on the box to only wash them if necessary (they are designed with stay-fresh technology), I decided to throw them in the washer with my other running gear: on cold and without fabric softeners. I let them air dry, and when I tried them again for another five-miler, I found they had not changed sizes and were still comfortable and breathable.

Overall, these are a good product. I know some runners are not convinced that compression sleeves work, but I found that on my long run, in particular, there was a definite difference in how sore I was the next day. Additionally, I enjoyed wearing them with shorts on those colder days, and when running trails, they also protected my legs from scratches. They were easy to care for, and though I have not tested the stink factor, they had absolutely no smell after all three of my runs and additional hiking.

I workout some but I'm not a runner. In fact I hate running because I get major shin splints 2 min into the run. I read that wearing compression sleeves would help so upon reading reviews I bought it right before a 5k. The week before the event I had leg pain daily because I was trying to get them in shape for the run. I wore them right before the event (for the first time) and took them off when it ended. I am not exaggerating when I say this. My leg DID NOT HURT AT ALL during the race and afterwards. NO shin splints and leg pain was gone! Not even pain the next day! I was skeptical that something so thin and comfortable would make a difference...BUT I am a believer and I would never run without this ever again. Where have you been all my life?! My calf size is about 14" and I got a medium. I thought it should be tighter but worked perfectly! The material is high quality and definitely does the job. I will be recommending this to everyone! Also signed up for another 5k shortly after because this helped me so much and made me find love for running. THANK YOU for making high quality compression sleeves and changing lives 🥰
