We wanted illumination that was better suited to our firepit experience than a harsh, white LED bulb. We put two Flame Bulbs in the scones beside our patio door, and are delighted with the results. We can have the flickering light of flames, or a warm steady yellow glow at the flick of a switch (2 states) and it does not attract moths or other insects.

These light bulbs were the perfect item for what I was looking for to really set the ambiance for Halloween and for Thanksgiving. It was the perfect brightness as if they were real torches to really set a mood. My next door neighbor was up early in morning right after I had put the flame light bulbs in and he saw the glow from his frosted glass in the bathroom and thought my house had caught fire. Haha so there is that.
I might even keep them in for Christmas...I think at night with snow on the ground and some christmas decorations can really make the house pop. Especially at night.

These are cool. They aren't super bright, but I'd assume you could reason that they won't be as bright as a 100w white bulb. But they are cool.
While we have had several compliments, and I've since noticed other houses in the neighborhood with them, we've encountered one problem. I keep finding a little old lady in my drive way, spraying holy water on my porch lights and trying to cast out the devil inside. She calls the light "Satan's doorway" and thinks that somehow it's a direct portal or something like that. I've asked her to stay away, but this morning I found garlic cloves hanging from the lights. Not sure how that's supposed to help, but ...
Anyway, cool lights. Get some.

I purchased these light bulbs for Halloween and was not expecting much. I can say I am pleasantly pleased. I installed them upside down and they do look light a flame inside the light fixture. They give off a soft flame like glow, not too bright, but enough to keep the Trick or Treaters from falling up the steps. I do not know how long they will last but I think I will keep them in through Christmas since the effect looks good on my colonial home.

I purchased this bulb to create a unique, gas flame ambiance in the outdoor lamp of my new town home. I was seeking the authentic "flickering" effect, which I figured would also be perfect for Halloween, and would entertain my kindergarten age child. Let me explain that it took three days (after I installed this light bulb into my exterior lamp) for the bulb to warm up and create a flickering effect. The bulb was just solid orange (not flickering) for the first three days, which confused me. HOWEVER, after three days, the flickering, gas lamp ambiance began! Now, we LOVE this bulb! Several neighbors have commented on its beauty. It has now lasted for over a month, and I expect that it will last much longer. I'm excited to have this ambiance for Halloween and kiddos' trick or treating in our neighborhood. This is an affordable and fun investment! Just give the bulb a few days to warm up. Don't be discouraged if it doesn't immediately flicker as shown. Not sure why it takes time, but it does. I LOVE this item and will continue to order it as needed!
