One piece construction

First; the case houses my Gerber DIESEL MP600 comfortably and the snap works without having to tug on the flap. It is not tight/snug as the product description says so that is a plus (no breaking in period). One thing which reduced my rating from a 5 to a 4 is the on-piece design. Since the case has no stitching, the leathersmiths put the butt joint (which of course is not sewn together) under the belt loop which catches the leading end of my belt every morning when I want to slip the case on. Not earth-shattering but not nearly as easy as it could be. I too, like some other reviewers, prefer a leather case to the fabric ones supplied by Gerber. I look forward to the case lasting the life of this my 5th Gerber multitool since the early 90's.

I've had my Gerber multitool since the 90s, and I've been through several nylon belt cases for it. I figured maybe a leather one like this would be more durable.
First off, this thing is made well - very heavy leather with solid rivets. The Gerber fits with some looseness, but that's fine.
What I don't like - because of the way it's made, it rides about an inch or so higher on my belt than the nylon cases. It doesn't bother me at work much as I have my shirt tucked in. But any other time, the top of the case keeps poking me in the back when I sit, or sometimes when I just move around. Not a major issue, but something to be aware of.

I have been carrying a Gerber Diesel on my belt every day, long enough to wear out two Gerber cases and three Red Head cases from Bass Pro shops. I needed a new case after the last 3 didn't last a year of every day carry.
I stumbled on this one from American Bench craft and after 2 days of use I can tell that this is the best case I've ever bought. No stitching, just rivets and a well made product.
I read another review that said the case was initially tight and needed some break in time, I did not find this to be true with the case I received. My Gerber tool fit great and is easy to get it out.

Very nice sheath for my MP600 pliers. I use a braided belt and the fit is a little tight but it is still possible to feed my belt through a second time. i just have to use my tool. After the second day my tool fit a lot better. This case can be scratched very easily if you have sharp nails. Overall it is a great product and the rivets seem to be strong enough to hold for years. The case is very comfortable and does not protrude too far out when my shirt covers it
