I have a vinyl brush for the big pieces of dust but I needed something a little more heavy duty. Many of the records I get have white specks from the sleeves they come in. I have the good sleeves I transition them into but the brush wasn't getting the little specks. I needed something better. This brush and spray is perfect for the small specks and my records look spotless now
This kit is extremely easy to use and I feel like my new records are in better shape after using this and so is my stylus.

My original Discwasher that I bought in 1981 recently split in a seam running along the front of the velvet so I started researching for a replacement. I've heard good reviews of the Discwasher 4+ cleaning fluid and found that this system is still being made, but by RCA. The beautiful thing about the internet is reading reviews by actual product users. This new Discwasher is an inferior knock off of the original with a corduroy pad instead of the directional velvet that helps scoop the contaminates off of the record surface. I've read in reviews that this corduroy pushes the dust around without actually lifting it. So this brings me to this product which mentions a velvet pad. While not being directional, the grain going into the direction of the grooves, it does track nicely into the grooves. I can feel this when I try to move the brush inwards or outwards on the record, especially when finishing and drawing the brush off the edge of the record. So, apply less pressure and whisk it off lightly. I also wanted the try a less stiff stylus brush, which this kit includes. My original Discwasher stylus brush is extremely stiff so only the point of the stylus gets any attention and dust can accumulate on the cantilever and on top of it. This brush helps the stylus rest down into the bristles for a more complete cleaning. One thing not included in this kit is a brush cleaner which is another bristle brush you use to whisk off dust from the velvet after you clean the record. I use my old brush for now, hint, hint guys! The kit comes with a bottle of vinyl cleaner which has a spray applicator instead of a drip which we used back in the day to apply to the front edge of the pad. I make my own fluid with distilled water, 90% isopropyl alcohol and a wee bit of Finish dishwasher fluid as a surfactant since my old fluid ran out years ago. So I haven't tried this new fluid yet. There is also a bottle of stylus cleaner you can add to the brush to help loosen any stubborn particles on your stylus. I haven't found any home made concoctions for this yet, so I'm happy to use this. I wonder what's in it? Lastly the kit comes with a microfiber cloth which I haven't used yet since I have a Boundless anti static brush for light dusting right before I drop the "needle". All this stuff is great after you have done a deep cleaning with some sort of wet washing. I am currently looking into some sort of vacuum system now to lift contaminates thoroughly off the deep cleaned record. And after your done, put your freshly cleaned vinyl in a Mo-fi type record sleeve. The paper sleeves and cardboard sleeves scratch your records every time you take them out and put them back in. Yikes!

Ok folks if you are using or considering this product it probably means you, like me have some old vinyl. As someone who owns a few hundred records that have been in storage for 20+ years... this item is the real deal. Well made and easy to use. I have listened to 8 albums since yesterday and this item works wonderfully. I took care of my records so they still sound great. My only disappointment, for lack of a better word is if you are old enough to remember the old disc washer, it had the red bottle that fit into a cutout on one end of the brush this brush has no opening like that. If you are looking for something to take care of that valuable vinyl this is a No Brainer...quality item, great price, fast delivery and the owner himself reached out via email to thank me for my business. Whether you are just starting out as a collector, or are an experienced collector, this product is very nice. I personally like the large brush and the surface area it provides. It allows me to give the vinyl a thorough cleaning with one sweep unless of course the record is too dirty. In that case, just give it another sweep or two. The stylus cleaner is top notch although I don't think the cleaning fluid is always necessary. The microfiber cloth is a nice addition. It can help remove excess moisture from the vinyl or dust that remain after a thorough sweep. Great product!
