Pay attention to FAMILY vs INDIVIDUAL membership

I bought this on Prime Day bundled with a 128gb micro-SD card.

I was on auto-pay for my monthly INDIVIDUAL plan membership (had already been billed for the current month). I didn't realize this was a FAMILY plan code, and when I activated it (thinking it would add 12 months onto my existing plan), I wound up with an individual plan AND a family plan both going at the same time.

It was such a great deal that I wasn't even paying attention to the cost, BUT I don't need the family membership. I called Nintendo support and they converted my Family Plan months and added them to my individual plan, so it actually worked out great. But in case there is anyone as stupid as I am reading this right now: There are two types of plans, if you only have one Switch the Individual one is cheaper.

This membership gives me the online mode for the Nintendo Switch. The Family membership has connected all of our accounts so we can play together and with friends.
I had a little trouble activating my code because it wanted me to link my account to a recurring charge source. I didn't want an auto payment taken out, which is why I bought the code to start with, but they made me set it up to activate the code. I now need to go into my account and turn off the auto payment before the auto renewal occurs next year.
I wasn't happy that they made me do that to redeem my purchase, however, I am very happy with the Family Membership.

(Fair warning: when you use the code for this card it will still ask for a paypal or credit card info for automatic renewal of the plan when the year rolls over for your membership.)

In order to include people onto this family plan you have to type in the code emailed to you after purchasing this card into the "enter code" section of your Nintendo Switch's Nintendo eShop. Next get on your laptop or phone and go to your Nintendo account page. On the left side of the page underneath the user info and sign in security options tab will be a tab called "Family group". Click that and invite other people's accounts into your family group. If you have any questions feel free to ask and I'll try my best to help.

Works great and is relatively cheap for what it provides. I registered it to my primary account and have given my immediate family access with no hiccups.. Cheaper than Xbox live so I can't really complain. We have 4 switches in our family and I will probably get one myself here soon.
