I've exclusively used the smaller one for colorwork since buying the thimbles. Just have to make sure the yarn isn't twisted when you thread it and tension keeps itself. Took a fair isle hat to get used to it, can't recommend it enough. Doesn't snag at all!

I have been struggling to learn stranded colorwork for 6 month, knitting and frogging the same hat over and over. I kept getting the yarns twisted and fighting with my tension, which would cause me to mess up my pattern. I noticed an immediate difference with using this thimble, no more twisted yarns! It did take a bit of fiddling to decide how to tension, as I normally wrap my yarn around my index finger (continental style knitting). In just a few hours I have almost finished my hat!
