made from fairly heavy stainless steel stock and welded together. That hook device welded to the mesh on the bottom is handy for draining oil after the food has been fried. The mesh is fine enough to hold anything, although some rather small bits of loose breading, flour, or corn meal may fall through it during frying. The oil stayed fairly clear of debris when I used it.

I have a top of the line flash fryer (deep fryer) and this I purchased as a replacement for my old fryer basket. Couldn't be more pleased. I throw it in the dishwasher when done cooking and it comes out looking like new every time.
