Overall I enjoyed the experience of these new masks compared to traditional snorkeling kits. It was much easier to breath and the seal was generally good (although there was some fogging when you stuck your head out of the water, and it didn't entirely seal against my medium length beard). That said, the one thing that threw me were the optics. Due to the shape of these masks, everything looks much closer than it is when you're underwater. The only way to interpret distances is to stick your arm out, at which point you realize the coral is much further away than it looks, and you're not about to run into it. Regular snorkeling masks have flat rather than curved lenses, so I'm assuming this accounts for the skewed perspective you get with these. Perhaps it will just take some getting used to, in a way it's kind of nice having everything seem closer than it is, but only time will tell.

I took this with me on our recent cruise to the Bahamas to use instead of renting snorkeling equipment. It was comfortable, easy to put on, and worked well. I had water come into my mask once or twice but I may have needed to tighten it. I had water come into the snorkel once and it was very little. I think I stuck it completely into the water. Overall, was happy with it.
