Excellent for masonry, but not wood

I bought this hole saw to vent a bathroom exhaust fan out the side wall of my home. My house is stucco, so I chose this masonry saw. This hole saw is precisely 4" and is very well made. The saw cut through the stucco very well. It took some effort and force, but only as much as would be normal to go through 5/8" of concrete. No trouble with the stucco and the drywall, but then I came to a wood beam 1.5" thick. This hole saw is definitely not made for cutting wood. After drilling for quite a while on the wood I finally had to give up on the hole saw and use a reciprocating saw. If you're using this for masonry only, it's a great tool, highly recommended. If you have to go through wood, you'll need a different tool.
Impressive first-use

Was pleasantly surprised by this. We have very hard '60's era brick on our house so I knew I needed something that wasn't just made for stucco or concrete block and this did the trick. I've only used it once for a new vent so I can't comment on long-term durability, but it made it through 4" of brick in 20 minutes or so, stopping to spray it with water every now and then, and it looks fine for the next project. A couple recommendations - if you need it for a 4" vent, get one size larger - it's not big enough to fit a 4" vent pipe through easily. I'd also probably get one with a guide drill bit if I had to do it over. Without the center bit, it's pretty tough to hold it steady enough to start the hole. But it did the job for so I'm happy with it.

Amazing tool for solid brick.

Amazing tool for going through solid brick. I needed to install a dryer vent and was nervous about damaging the brick on the house. I drilled from the inside out. The brick is 45 years old, and very hard. I got out my old B&D 3/8" drill and went to work.
The bit worked amazingly well. About half way through, I broke the head off my drill! So, I had to run to the store to buy a new drill. I ended up buying a 1/2" hammer drill. When I got home and installed the bit on the new drill, I went back to work. In no time, I was chipping out the first bit of brick in order to keep cutting (it only goes 2-inches deep. Once chipped, I went back to it, and went the remaining 2 inches in about 5 minutes.
After cutting through the brick, you can't even tell the bit was used on something so hard, as it barely shows any wear. Consider me impressed and my wife happy!

If I could give more than 5 stars I would!!!

I needed to install a 4" vent line and had a hard time finding a bit. This one was very well priced, has a warranty, and works like a charm. Wet drilling this vent hole through 1.5" of concrete took less than 5 minutes and felt like cutting butter with a warm spoon.
I have more holes to cut, and this is going to be my go to.
I would highly recommend this bit for anyone needing to put a 4 inch hole through a slab of concrete or stucco.
