I wish I would had gotten this when I moved in my house 8 months ago. Air from the attic was making the upstairs hot and causing the air conditioning to work overtime. As each day started the temp would be fine but by mid afternoon the temperature upstairs would be higher then what it was set to and would balance back out at night. As soon as I received this I installed it and noticed a complete difference in the temperature upstairs. It's been 24 hours since I installed this and all I can say is wow"¦"¦it really works. No issues with the temperature going above what the AC is set on.

We bought this to keep the cold and heat in the attic. Install was easy, just staple to the frame, zip shut and walk the hallway without hitting a cold spot. I don't see why it won't do the same in the summer and keep the heat out of that area. I'll update IF it doesn't perform as expected

I installed this insulator prior to the summer months because I could "smell" the attic and feel the heat from the attic stairs. This has been an excellent purchase! It reflects the heat back into the attic and keeps it from coming down into the upstairs area. My HVAC techs that service my units complement me on getting this and agree it saves on the A/C during the hot summers.

If you install this correctly, it really does work. Unfortunately fo my son, the attic entrance is in his bedroom. It used to get freezing in the poor kid's room in the winter, no matter how high the heat was. I considered installing an expensive baseboard heater, but I came across this attic door insulator. For the money, I figured let me give it a shot. I followed directions to the letter, and then I ran 2 strips of flashing duct (not the thick one, the shiny one that's more sticky) tape all the way around the unit. The first strip was run around to cover all of the staples. The secont strip was run around the seam created between the wooden frame of the attic stars and the new insulator. Then I just carefully searched around for any spaces that could leak cold air and covered those spots with the flashing tape as well. Presto Change-O.....the room became hot in seconds!
