I just switched back to a poured coffee method after deciding to get rid of the big, mostly plastic, high end coffee maker. While I had used French press and the single cup poured method years ago, I wanted something that was entirely glass or stainless steel. This product was a pleasant surprise. My biggest fear was that it would be thin glass, but it seems as thick as either my old French presses or the carafe on the coffeemaker. It made a very "clean" pot of coffee; I was surprised at the clear dark amber that it produced and the flavor was very good. Yes, there is a little time delay while you boil water and pour, but that goes with the territory. It will hold 4 cups of liquid, which for me was two large mugs or teacups. Glad to have made the switch.

It'll hold about two pounds of coffee. I roast my own beans, and they off-gas for about a day after roasting. If I put them in a normal airtight container, it bulges with gas and you get a "pop" when you open the can. This can gives no pop, but holds in the coffee aroma, which I take as evidence that it is indeed airtight.
