Revision of previous review: These worked great for 2 years then they started to fade away. I tried changing the batteries as shown in the instructions that came with them, but the batteries were difficult to change. However for the two years they were installed they were bright and easy to install. They're just not going to last much longer, and that's fine. When the seller saw this review, I was given a partial refund. Of course, the condition was to remove my previous review. I didn't do that, but added to it. For a temporary (and really, everything is temporary) they were terrific, so I have no qualms in revising my review. I just wish I could have replaced the batteries as that would have been kinder to the environment than just chucking the lights after two years. I'm now into my third set of step lights.

First off, it's very difficult to remove the back plate. I was worried it would snap in half. I replaced the batteries with brand new AAA batteries and... nothing. I did this with all four that went out and none of them would work again. Very disappointing, especially since they were wonderful when they did work.

This is my 2nd set, as my 1st set did so well. The brightness, when positioned in sunlight, charges beautifully and gives off a long and lasting warm glow throughout the night. These are not motion sensor lights, but they are sturdy and last quite a while when placed correctly in direct sun for charging.
