My daughter teeters between a 6X and a medium. A medium is usually just right but with a tiny bit of "growing room". I read the reviews and bought a large. It fits very well, if not a teeny bit small. Certainly no growing room. She is usually SWIMMING in a large! I've made the mistake of buying larges before, and she won't be able to wear them for AT LEAST a year. But this large fits like a 6X on her - slightly bigger than a regular small but definitely smaller than a regular medium. The x-large would've been too big for her. Order a size or two up.
