Really good for beginners, but...

I love this saw. It's a very good beginner's saw and so long as you are using pinned blades, the saw is excellent. However, should you switch over to pinless blades, well that's a whole other story. The attachments to hold pinless blades is the most frustrating, awkward, and clunky adjustment to any tool I have owned and I have hundreds of them. I bought this saw because I am new to scrollwork. Yesterday I was ready to throw it out or give it away because the adjustment attachments are so frustrating! I cannot find the blades that I want to use as pinned blades, otherwise, everything would be fine. I may be upgrading sooner than I thought. But hey, maybe you won't have as much trouble as I have had. Go on Youtube before you buy one and check it out. If you do buy this saw, an absolute must-have is a 2" square. You will need it to check if your blade is on square if you use pinless blades.
Can cut in two directions

Bought as a gift for my wife, she wanted it. I don't think she's finished the project I bought it for and it's been 2 years. The tool works great and is easy to use.
Definitely worth the $$

I just recently got into scrolling, so I'm no expert. I have done woodworking most of my adult life and know tools pretty well. I bought a used Delta 16", which I loved until a part broke which I can't replace (still looking). I was still on the fence about scrolling, so I didn't want to spend big $$ on a new saw.
The Wen 16" had good reviews and I owned a Wen chain saw that served me very well so I bought it. I'm not disappointed. I'm making very intricate cuts with ease. Other reviewers have complained about the vibration. I just have it sitting on my bench and the vibration hasn't been an issue. Some of the complaints might be due to inexperience rather than the saw itself. There are lots of good videos on Youtube, about this saw and scrolling in general. I suggest watching them.
I frantically searched for a week for the part for my Delta and I'm still looking, but this saw does everything I need it to do.
BTW....I'm addicted and this saw is getting a workout! Go with the 5" pinless blades. A little more difficult to change, but a lot more options.
Never disappointed

As a custom furniture maker I depend on on my tools to work when I need them. I bought my first wen product years ago and haven't been disappointed with one yet. Now these aren't designed for hard production work but for a hobbyist or a tool you only use occasionally they are great. Because even if you only use it occasionally when you need it, you need it to work and WEN has never let me down. I would put this scroll saw against some costing 2-3 times more but I can honestly say that about every WEN tool I've owned.
