My first thought when I saw this was "what a strange thing".
Turns out, I love it! I do a lot of wool work, like candle mats, runners, and even larger works. This thimble really helps! When it gets tough to pull the needle thru multiple layers I can just pop the thumb piece on and pull the needle through. I don't use it the whole time I work since the piece that fits on my thumb tends to flop around. It is easier for me to use by putting it on as I need. If I'm at a particularly difficult place I will just leave it on.
