Assuming you know what you are doing, it works just fine. Obviously with the small stepper, it doesn't have a lot of torque, so go easy on it. If you want to cut aluminium, keep the stock under 15mm diameter, use a 3mm endmill, and 0.5mm DoC. Accuracy is pretty good as well, it feels cheap but I swept the shaft with an indicator and it's off by 0.5mm over 360mm span so no complaints there.
I just wired it up to its own driver and tied the step/dir signal together with my X stepper.
Just be careful not the let chips get into the belt. Cover it up with something and maybe stay off flood coolant.

Just received the package. I noticed that the ball bearing that holds the tip of the tailstock is blocked or damaged,
I was able to lose it with WD40 but still, it has a lot of friction. There is no instruction or information on how to fix this.

Very nice unit. I could not find any backlash or any play. Got it in just two days. It worked right out of the box. Price is better that Ebay. I'm going to use 2" aluminum blocks under the unit to turn pieces up to 9" diameter, without them you can do 5" diameter.
