I bought this set and a jacket from the leading manufacturer or red foul weather gear (with the yellow hoods). I compared them side-by-side. They are both made in China of identical materials. These do make some design compromises to lower cost but not at expense of workmanship, stitching quality, or materials.
This set costs what the other brand's jacket alone costs. I wore these extensively on an Atlantic passage in December, and I am extremely happy with my selection.
