It does help accelerate the speed of defrosting and perfect for those nights you get home later than expected. I try to mind wiping the board down occasionally to get some of the cold condensation that puddles. The green "feet" come off, which is great for cleaning, but they easily fall off if you just move the board slightly (i.e. when wiping down)

I purchased these in November of 2019. After a year of frequent use, I do recommend purchasing them. I place it/them in a cookie sheet with sides and place frozen food on them to thaw. I occasionally flip whatever I'm thawing (when I remember) which speeds the process up. I wash mine by hand. The "feet" do come off which is a pain, but I have a small container on the counter to keep them in so that none get misplaced. Very easy to put them on. I buy large packages of hamburger and repackage in freezer bags. I now flatten the meat inside the bag to make a larger surface for thawing which saves a lot of time.

This is my favorite impulse purchase. With the issues surrounding the pandemic, I am cooking only from home now. These defrosting trays are incredible. Whenever I opened them, I thought they were pretty thin and may not be as effective as I would like. I was wrong! I worked in school nutrition for 14 years, and am a stickler for food safety. So, I needed something that would thaw thoroughly and quickly, to keep with safe food handeling procedures. These do just that! I had seen others complain about the silicone "legs" coming off easily, but I find that once I put them on and sit the tray in the baking pan that I lay it in, they stay on perfectly. They are easy to clean, as are the pans themselves. I sit these inside a baking pan with sides, so that any runoff of condensation will be caught, and not make a mess. I lay the frozen product on the thawing sheet, and turn it over after about 30 minutes, moving it to a warmer side of the sheet. I have found that most food thaws in under an hour, and it stays cold!
