It's not as water resistant as it could be, the side pockets do not zip and let rain in. It is very good against wind, not so much for rain. Order a size larger than you think you need.

I wear an 3x but ordered an 4x tall. I ordered a size bigger so I can wear a sweater underneath if needed. I like baggy jackets. As other viewers state, the material is thin. This is fine with me. There is some mesh netting behind the large front pocket area (tummy area when worn). The jacket has a neck zipper 12" long. This is a tall size so length may be shorter in regular sizes.
