I was happy they fit perfectly. It adds a perfect touch of contrast against the white post. I have Gray / Sand color decking. Only wish there was more grey pigmentation in the color because it is a light Gray. I was concerned the solar lights wouldn't kick on because of my sconce near door, but it didn't affect the lighting. Glad I got it.
*Side note, instructions could be better. Tough to figure out how to get to batteries.

I got these lights to go onto composite posts that are EXACTLY 4" square. (dimensional lumber/wood posts are less than 4", and many lights are designed to fit those and wouldn't work with my posts.)
What's important to know here, and why I'm writing this review, is to try to add some clarity to the whole post size issue across various brands, is that not all lights will fit all posts - there are ranges in sizes.
With these lights, the opening is exactly 4 and 1/16th of an inch across, so they will fit composite/vinyl posts that are exactly 4 inches across.
I needed 21 of these lights total, and after ordering the initial 12 from Amazon, once I knew the exact product name and model number, I was able to find 10 more from another vendor (leaving me 1 extra) that were almost half the cost of what these were.
As for the lights themselves, they work exactly as intended, and are snug enough on my posts that I am not currently using the attaching hardware - they are simply placed over the post and are held in place with light friction and pressure.
They are not bright - they provide a soft glow that creates a nice ambiance on my deck at night - it would be perfect for hanging out and having drinks with friends, lighting things up just enough to keep it from being dark.
