At first I was wary of the other reviews but I wanted it so I figured I'd see for myself and go from there. I used powers tools after reading a few reviews and fortunately didn't have any issues. At first glance I thought the pieces were not labeled but if not a sticker stating which piece it is, check on the edges for a number. Dresser was quite easy to assemble, with the thanks of power tools and instructions. I think if you've built ikea furniture to some extent, this should not be the worst. Or for me it was not. I do think you could find a more quality piece depending on your wants and needs elsewhere however I loved the look, and was hoping for a smaller dresser as I do not own many articles of clothing. I actually adore the small size of the drawers. And I'm much more happy with this dresser than the huge one from ikea I have used in the past. However metal drawer sliders would be a great edition as you must ensure you're closing the drawer straight. But I was too lazy to do that so I stuck with what came with the package. All around that doesn't bother me. I love the size, the color and the style of the dresser. And that's not to say the quality is completely lacking. I find it it to be a sturdy quality piece for me and my needs but that may vary from whatever it is you personally desire. Sometimes it really just depends. Whether you receive a damaged product, or had difficulty assembling it, in my opinion you never really know until you, yourself try. :)

I love the color and sturdiness. I dislike that there are no rails for the drawers and they stick; very hard to open and close. It needs to be sanded and maybe add rails

I can only imagine the corporate conversations between the engineer who designed this and the people deciding what it will be made of and how to make it work to maximize their profit"¦ This is very clearly cleverly designed to be as reinforced and sturdy as possible with the inexpensive materials provided. I was very impressed with The design.

However, the veneer and lightweight materials will not wear well. Be sure this will not be in a high traffic area! Everything has been designed to reinforce itself to be as sturdy as possible. There is a weighted block in the back since the materials are lightweight, the dowels that secure pieces while you're screwing things in come with their own wood glue. Etc. This can easily be assembled by one person. That said, it is 100% by hand. No pre-drilled holes. handheld screwdriver is necessary due to materials. No drills. I have assembled a lot of flat box furniture and this took me about four hours.

Some of the instructions should be divided into multiple steps, but if you know what you're looking for and are willing to sit there and figure it out (possibly switchong some of the order) so you don't have to backtrack, it is worth it for the price.

The design of the drawer fronts is stylish for a mid century look, but is not deep or thick enough to be practical for your hand. I have small hands, and can barely grip to pull the drawer open. I have to do it carefully. With bigger hands, it would be even more difficult. This could be fixed with a thicker material or a deeper cut down into the front of the drawer. As is, keeping for my purposes with lowered expectations for longevity of wear and tear. I will end up with something else long-term.

Honestly this thing seems way nicer quality than the price would indicate. The finish however, has a pretty noticeable blemish on the top center that really bugs me. Adding some wax to put on the drawer skids would be a good and cheap addition as they sometimes don't slide evenly.

This is a beautiful piece of furniture made of solid, honey colored wood, with a lovely modern design. However, it is very hard to assemble. The instructions say not to use a drill, but I found some of the screws impossible to get in all the way without a drill. There was one screw hole missing on a panel. The hardware that comes with the dresser is mediocre. It's all wood on wood, so the drawers are squeaky and don't slide in or out easily. I plan to use powder on them and might update this post if it helps. It would have been better if the dresser came with metal hardware with wheels to make the drawers open and shut with ease. My old IKEA dresser is nicer than the Walker Edison dresser in that respect. I'm not returning it because I've already assembled it, but I probably wouldn't buy it again.

Be careful not to mix up the different sized dowels... I accidentally punched a hole in the wood while driving one in that was too long. :'(
