Skip the tape; use construction adhesive

Because I'm lazy, I wanted an easy-to-install, well rated & reviewed product. Bob Vila recommendation sealed it for me, so I ordered. Everything came as promised, spent a day cleaning, and applying the tape as instructed - used the little squeegee and everything. 24 hour "tack time" given before applying the panels. Next day, opened the garage door and two of the panels peeled halfway off and dangled over my car as I backed out. Stewed all day at work about it, then went to Lowe's and bought some construction adhesive.
The adhesive on the supplied double-sided tape sticks well to the door metal, but not to the insulation panel (installed just like all the other photos, with metallized side facing the door). Angry about having to do the same job twice because the tape doesn't adhere to the product. Otherwise, my garage is now toasty in the winter.
Would I recommend? Sure. Just don't waste your time doing the job twice and use a better adhesive the first time.
Definitely Worth The Cost and Effort!

Well, I debated on how to insulate my West-facing aluminum garage door that acts like a giant radiant heater for the interior. I settled on this package because it comes with everything you need!
The worst part is all the prep for installation.
The double sided thin foam tape works great and I have a bunch left over from my 16' wide door 4 panels 21" high.
It isn't necessary to remove all of the hinges and wheel mounts like I did and risk dropping an entire 16' panel out of the door... like I did! You will have to remove the hurricane braces (for those in the South) for a good installation.
I replaced the seal at the bottom since it was hard, flat, and 15 years old. That was a treat. All in all it took me several days of part time work to git er done. I also sealed the edges with tape for flexible duct work. It is a silver/metalized tape for HVAC. One role goes a LOOOONG way. It is not the metal foil tape.
The interior of my garage used to be a sauna in the summer! Now it is MUCH cooler than outside and closer to the low 70's the house is set at. This is worth the cost and effort - without a doubt!
great product

This insulation was easy to install. It is an excellent product that cuts down the amount of heat entering my garage dramatically. I ran short when I started the job and the owner,Michael, immediately expedited a roll to my home at no charge and no questions asked. Love the product. The company(owner) is easy to work with. I highly recommend this product.
Good product, excellent customer service.

Our neighbor insulated his garage and recommended this product. We looked at his garage and liked what we saw and garage was cooler!
We have a typical FL house with one large and one small garage door so we bought 2 units of the insulation. We tackled the small door first and it took us probably 4-5 hours to insulate that door. A lot of time is consumed removing and then replacing the horizontal braces on the door after the insulation is applied. A power rachet is necessary.
Application is straight forward and pretty easy if you have 2 people. Insulation is easy to cut; no mess or cleanup.
We started the large door today and it's definitely more time consuming but not hard.

We had a problem when we opened the second box of insulation and found that we had 9' lengths instead of 18' lengths. Could not finish the job. I emailed the company (on a Sunday morning) and Mike got right back to me about the problem and promised a replacement shipment next day and a return label for the wrong product.
Could not ask for better service than this.

I would recommend the product. A few more neighbors on the street will be buying this to do their garages. The $200 spent is worthwhile upgrade to the garage.
Great, Affordable Solution For Hot Garages

This thin, lightweight material is easy to cut with the knife shipped in the kit. The provided, two-sided tape seems to hold the insulation securely to the garage door as well. Time will tell.

It took me about four-hours to insulate my two-car garage door. There were a few small pieces of insulation left at the end of the project. I ran out of tape, but there was just enough.

Some tips: Measure twice, and then cut one-panel-at-a-time. Test-fit each panel before putting on the adhesive tape. (While my door panels looked identical in size, there were not.) Use the flat plastic blade tool provided in the kit to push the adhesive tape onto the foil side of the insulation. Use it again to secure the panels to the door. Working from the center to to the edges will straighten tape. I found a carpenters framing square helpful for making the 64+ cuts necessary to size all of the panels.

My garage door gets direct sun from dawn until mid-afternoon. The insulation makes a noticeable difference in the interior temperature.

Quick shipping. Competitive price. Excellent seller offered 24/7 support and his cell phone number in the instructions.
