Works for enlarging a tapered knuckle hole for a larger ball joint.

This thing works fine and cuts fast for enlarging a tapered opening. Instructions suggest using drill for reaming and I found a slow speed works best. There is some un-evenness in the cut hole and I also found that finishing the bore by slowly turning the cutter by hand using a tool to grip the drive end makes a nice job of it. This thing cuts fast so monitor the depth.

Yes, I know it is Ouch! expensive. But on the other hand, this reamer works great. I've been repairing an old tractor for which factory parts are no longer available. I had to fabricate multiple parts, and needed tapered holes for seating tie rod ends.
Having never used a tapered reamer before, I was expecting at least a couple tries to get one right. No so! I've reamed two holes so far in new fabricated parts, one on a lathe the other in a handheld drill. The tie rod ends fit and seat down like I had new factory parts. Very pleased with the results. Recommended.
