Fits Pottery Barn Basic sofa perfectly
Olivia✓ Verified Purchase•October 19, 2023
Ordered this slipcover in white on a Sunday afternoon and it arrived promptly on Tuesday afternoon. It fits the PB Basic sofa (purchased from Pottery Barn in 2007 and manufactured by Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams) perfectly. The cushion covers are a tiny bit roomier than the originals, but I had put the original ones in the dryer many times. The frame cover fits snugly and zips and velcros tightly onto the frame for a tailored look. They had a bit of factory odor and wrinkles from being folded in the packaging, so prior to putting the cover on the sofa, I ran the cover thru my washer on the steam cycle with a dryer sheet and it came out much less wrinkly and smelling nice. The fabric is a little thinner than the original and definitely not as soft, but it is sturdy and seems well made and will likely soften with use and washing. I sprayed it with scotchguard to protect it from kids and pets and it did not discolor. Not sure how other reviewers found it to be too small unless they have a different model of PB sofa like a grand or comfort. All in all it is an excellent value at roughly 1/3 of the price of a custom PB replacement cover, and it is available immediately.
Fits a Pottery Barn SLEEPER Sofa!

My husband & I purchased a Pottery Barn Basic Sleeper Sofa in 2013. The sofa is still in very good condition, but the slipcover was worn & needed to be replaced. I contacted Pottery Barn, but was informed our sleeper sofa was discontinued, & the cover is no longer available. Very disappointed, we thought we would have to purchase a whole new livingroom couch... BUT then I discovered Amazon sells this Basic 3 Seat Sofa Cover! We weren't sure it would fit, but took a chance & purchased anyway. To our surprise & utter delight, it fits the sleeper sofa perfectly! This cover is excellent quality, very well made, much less expensive than Pottery Barn, & is available for purchase right now without having to wait weeks or months for custom made. A very worthwhile purchase ~ we couldn't be more thrilled!
A great deal, with a couple caveats

I was thrilled to find a reasonably priced slipcover for my PB sofa that I bought in 2001 (!). The color, as other have noted, is cream, nowhere near yellow. It is identical in color and fabric and construction to my 2001 one, except I had a terrible time getting the cover on--I almost sent it back, then battled and battled and with a small seam rip and some spraying (not sure that helped), I finally got it on. Worth $1000+ savings? You bet.
Seemed well made, but had to return

I really wanted to love this slipcover. It seemed well made, the material was nice and sturdy, loved the color (the light yellow is really a creamy off white) but it just didn't fit my Pottery Barn Basic Sofa. I tried really hard to get it on but it just wasn't going to happen. If it was just a couple inches longer it probably would have worked. I don't know what it would have been like after washing because I just didn't get that far.
Amazing value (relative to the cost of replacing with PB brandname item)

The quality of fabric (85% cotton, 15% poly) on the dark grey and light grey (I got one for my 3 piece PB basics sofa and one for my PB basics chair) is very good. Workmanship is excellent. Fit is outstanding (this was surprising to me, but I'm very satisfied). Colors are beautiful. Fabric weave is not the exact weave of the original "Mitchell Gold" that my pieces came with (that was a sort of diagnonal weave, this is exactly as is shown in the photos on the item page from the Amazon website), but again, I am pleased with the quality. Right out of the box, there were some minimal fold lines (not too many wrinkles, but a few as well) and so I went to the trouble of ironing every piece before placing the covers on the pillows and the couch. This process took me a while, but I could also see the build quality by doing so. Overall, this couch style is meant to be slightly on the "lived in" side of the spectrum, so a few wrinkles are okay. The most important thing to me was fit. Taking off the original ones and replacing them with these new ones, I'd say that the fit is as exact as one could ask for. And, despite my fears that getting the main base covered would be a bear, it went really well for both the chair and the couch. I took my time, and it fits (I think) perfectly on both. A clue about the couch: when taking off the old cover, find the velcro and little zippers in the back (they're sort of hidden on the corners of the bottom flaps: unzip the zippers. Then proceed to remove the cover from the front. When putting on the new covers, start in the back and get the cover about 2/3's down or so, then proceed to get the front down all the way before perfecting every corner until just right. This product has my enthusiastic recommentation. P.S. I ironed at "cotton/linen" temp with steam on. If a drop of water gets on the fabric, it may temporarily discolor it! Freaked me out!. But I ironed over the slight discoloration with steam and it disappeared. I don't understand that at all, and was left to assume that there are such things as fabric angels who rolled their eyes at my folly but decided to help this ironing neophyte out anyway. All's well that ends well.
