Work well but a little bulky around the wrist
db.c.✓ Verified PurchaseSeptember 10, 2023
I've used these gloves twice last season for snowboarding and they worked well. MUCH more reasonably priced than other heated glove brands like Hestra. Kept my fingers toasty and were waterproof. The batteries charged fine and I think it lasted me 4-6 hours on med/high. They're warm even without turning the heater on as well. My only complaint is that the batteries are located along the wrist area and it gets a bit bulky and hard to pull my jacket cuff over the gloves. The opening isn't wide enough to stuff your jacket cuffs inside. Pleased with the gloves overall and would recommend. I hope they come out with a 3 finger style mitten!
I'm happy so far

My hands get cold very easily while I ski. On colder days I was using 2 disposable hand warmers in each hand.
I've used these all week while skiing in temps of the teens to low 20s with 20 mph winds. I usually ski around 5 hours each day. The batteries are lasting the whole time with the setting mostly on low. I periodically pump them to medium or high, but the low setting works pretty well.
Effective for me

I have tried every product advertised to keep both hands and feet warm during outdoor winter activities, usually with limited success. I was skeptical because the mittens themselves seemed too thin to retain any heat the battery produced but these work well for me on the highest setting. This setting will run out the batteries quickly but I invested in a second set of batteries and just swap them out as needed. Would give five stars except my thumbs freeze. It says they warm thumbkin but not so I feel it. If they made a premium pair that cost twice as much that actually delivered warmth to the lonely and cold thumb I would gladly pay the price. Still they are a big enhancement for my outdoor life. I also have the socks. Making sure all of my batteries are charging every night is now part of my winter ritual. Happy to get off my disposable warmer addiction that seems worse for the environment and ruins your nails and cuticles with the nasty dust.
No more cold hands!

I received these mittens as a Christmas gift and they did not disappoint. I have Reynaud's, so my hands and fingers get painfully cold when the temperature drops. So far, I have worn these when the temps have been in the low twenties and high teens, and they have kept my hands warm. Even on the highest temperature setting the heat is just enough to keep my hands warm without being too hot, which is good as my hands also have a painful adverse reaction to heat.

The batteries are rechargeable and made especially for the mittens. You would think the battery would make the mittens heavy, but it tucks nicely into the wrist area, so I don't even notice it when I'm wearing the mittens.

Snow Deer's customer service is also top notch. The first set of mittens, x-small, was slightly too big for me as I have petite hands. I reached out to the company to see about exchanging them for the xx-small, and they responded promptly by sending me the smaller size within a couple of days. I was so pleased I didn't have to wait several days or weeks for them to arrive.

I would definitely recommend these to anyone with Reynaud's or who lives/visits where it gets cold. I cannot wait to wear these skiing as I'll be able to actually feel the poles.
well-made WARM mitten in size XL!

The media could not be loaded. This Snowdeer-brand mitten gets the job done. Well-made from durable materials, it should provide years of warm hands. My hands often are comfortable in size L gloves, but in this one, XL is roomy without being loose. Clearly they were carefully made around a model-hand very similar to my own: it fits my hand well, without excess space or materials, each finger tip close-but-not-touching the end of the mitten. See the video review for further details, as well as comparison with the Wasoto electric mitten.

In a non-heated mitten, it can be helpful if you want to warm your fingers by making a fist inside a roomy mitten; due to the inner-glove that is harder: I can just slip my fingers out of the finger-web-separator and make a fist. But with the heat on, I won't need to do that much, unless I am on an extended backcountry trip and want to conserve battery.

My primary use for these mittens is for my 30-min bicycle commute down to at least 20deg F. My Reynauds issue in my hands makes keeping them warm a priority; however, sweaty/clammy hands also is a problem for me, so I am still learning my personal signals of when to turn off the power before I overheat.

**teeny bonus for gifting: mine came in a very nice box (not simple corrugated cardboard) with a magnetic closure...reminds me of Apple-designed iPad boxes**
