best price for the performance - a realistic evaluation...

In my opinion, the 2.4 Ghz Getaria Wireless Guitar System is an incredible value for the money! But, If you're a professional musician, this may not be for you. I say that because you're likely going to be hyper-critical about every detail from reliability, durability & build quality. So if you already have your mind set, don't waste your money.
But for the rest of us that are occasional community performers to bedroom musicians (myself included), this will definately do the task and do it well at a bargain price! Consider the following.....
1) In my opinion, sound quality via wireless was equal to using a direct cable. If there was any difference, in sound quality it was totally undetectable to my ears. Sound clarity seems to be a huge contraversy between users. I found that on occassion, I've experienced some crackling, clicking, or interferences from other devices in the area. I've also found that those same sounds can occur on my amps without the wireless system and just using a direct cable! Yet rotating my amp a few degrees in either direction will eliminate those same interferences! Understand, these wireless devices are like mobile antennas and your location may be the problem caused in proximity of your noisy enviroment devices (wifi routers, powerline transmitters, bad power supplies, etc.).
2) Range/Distance was reasonably well. I could get over 60-70ft (line of sight) or around 25-30 ft through simple walls (no plumbing or metallic material in it to block singals). Realistically, who is going to be playing beyond 35-40 ft (line of sight) from your amp anyway? And latency is also a non-issue if you're beyond 40 ft from your amp. Soundwaves arriving to your ears are already slower than the latency of the device!
3) Battery life seems to be around 2-3 hours between charges (your mileage may vary depending on your habits). It will be the transmitter that will run out of charge first but that is logical because transmitting will always use more power than just receiving. (no different than a cell phone... standby time can be days, but once you make several calls, that time will decrease tremendously). Also, like any rechargable device, the battery will deplete on its own over time so unless you start with a freshly charged unit, you will not realize the maximum battery performance.... period!
4) It's lack of durability over time may take it's toll. The housing is plastic and rough and careless handling will eventually cause a mechanical failure. But reasonable care and proper use should keep it going for years. Unfortunately, until I've had mine for over a year, I honestly can't back that statement up yet. But given my experiences with similar products, I feel good about these!
Overall, you're getting all this for aprox. $40 !!!!! At that price, what is there not to like?

I gave this to my uncle for his birthday as a gift.
He was surprised to get it and said that it worked well with his guitars.

Prior to using the Getaria Wireless Guitar System in our church programs, our audio team was using a shure wireless pack with the 1/4" option. This worked, but it was also one of our preaching microphones. For special events when we had more presenters, now we were limited.
If you find yourself in this situation, using a belt-pack of some sort and you're needing an extra mic from time to time, DO NOT HESITATE TO BUY THIS SET UP. You will not regret it.
The simplicity of plug and play is by far the happiest part of this experience.
Here's our current set up: (Guitar 1) runs a transmitter from an electric guitar wirelessly to the receiver plugged into a direct-box. (Guitar 2) runs a transmitter from an acoustic guitar wirelessly to a receiver plugged into an acoustic amp which sends an xlr signal through to the stage input.
Both guitarists are free to move about the platform without interference or mess of cables. Throughout the month of December we had several special programs. Having two wireless set ups for less than the cost of one shure mic was a blessing!

A good product to learn with.

A very affordable alternative to the older wireless systems. It's great for someone who's looking to learn. I never tried it in a studio or live venue environment however. We're just sitting around the house and practicing and getting used to the wireless system. You can't beat them.
Wonderful Sound and quality
