There was a slight learning curve to get the device set up and ready to use. I bought to check my daughter's ears for infection. Takes some practice, but it works.

The otoscope is bright, easy to use, and easy to transport. Would have been 5 stars BUT he ear specula did not stay on the otoscope. I had to go get ear specula from another place in order to use the tool. However, once equipped with the correct ear specula, the otoscope was good to go!
