A timing light is almost "old school" at this point. What modern car even needs it? Anyway, this one works like it should, it's not a zillion bucks, and it seems built well enough that it should still work whenever I need to dig it back out from the bottom of the tool cabinet. The battery leads could be another foot or two longer. The light is bright, and the flash is accurate, that's good enough for me.

Works as it should. And got my engine timed fast. Just connect power and ground to battery, and connect the lead to your #1 cylinder. Aim timing light to the crank pulley. In my case my crank pulley has 3 lines (white line, red, and white line) I timed the engine with the distributor loose and watched the timing light. I aimed for the red line (16 degrees)
