It works, but it's not plug and play in all Toyotas

I have a 4th Generation (2003-2009) Toyota 4Runner, and I bought the appropriate product with the rounded corners on the button, but the wiring harness plugs are not compatible with the factory wiring in my car. The shapes of the plugs prevent them from fitting the factory harness. I'm sure that they do work in some models just fine, but I'm writing this to make it clear that they do not fit every Toyota model without modification. I was able to use some precision wire cutters to cut off some of the plastic from the included harness to make the plugs fit in my car, but I would not consider this a "safe" operation for the average consumer, because it is now very easy to plug them in with the wires backward. I used a voltmeter to verify positive and negative leads, and then once I connected them, I zip tied them in place so they won't come loose.

Product fit in 2011 Tacoma, but would not connect to the 12V connector. Ultimately I had to buy T-tap terminals to splice the connections. Easy to do, just took extra materials. Hardest part is getting access to the install location below the AC controls.
I also "turned off" the green LED by cutting into the side of the housing with a razor blade and breaking the LED connections with a small screw driver. I then covered the hole with some electrical tape.
Ultimately installation was more involved than I hoped, but the end result is great.

Plug and Go was a No Go

Product fit perfectly in the factory slot. Wires harness was different on my 06 Runner. With a lil brainstorming I was able to remove the plastic harness and utilize the installed metal prongs, slipped right into the factory harness. Wrapped with a little electrical tape to secure and product works perfectly.

Super easy to install and works great. I love that the ports are designed to work both ways so you don't have to look to plug in the USB A in. It just fits upside down or right side up.
These are not plug and play for older vehicles.

It was plug and play for my 2013 Corolla but it wasn't for my 2005 Tacoma and 2007 Highlander. I had to take a hobby kit to cut and shave down the connections then wiggle these in to fit the cigarette lighter power plugs for each. Even though the setup wasn't as easy as I was hoping; I'm glad with the end result. These work great and my phone no longer complains about being under charged from older charging products.
