Works well for about an hour. It is fun to dial in the exact temperature. I have not had trouble with the battery, and I have had mine a month or two. My brother's is 8 months older than mine and the battery died. His is still functional though with the included saucer. It is a fun novelty but it is rather expensive. It would make a great gift. I have not told my wife what I paid for it. And I got it at a steep discount. The 14 oz. size is good. No way would anything smaller work for me.
It doesn't keep the last few ounces warm. That is just as well. If you leave it on the saucer it will keep coffee hot for hours, but the taste after a few hours is like the worst coffee at a roadside diner. Burnt coffee.

I've had no chipping or scratching like I've seen in the reviews. I even use it with my aeropress. As long as you don't abuse it I think it will hold up.
The "smart" feature of hooking it up to your phone is a little over engineered. I linked it up the first few days to get my perfect temp and have no opened it back up since.
