Great picture, tools useless for personal use

I bought this to see in my own ears. It took some maneuvering to figure out how to hold the camera for the best picture. The picture quality is great. The metal pieces that come with it unfortunately do not attach to the camera which make them useless for me as I am not going to blindly stick a metal object in my ear. If I were to buy another digital otoscope, I would look for one that has items which attach to the camera.

Was easy to set up after scanning the QR code. I was able to see the inside of my ears to determine that I needed to visit my doctor for ear drops to clear an infection that was in my other ear. It arrived within hours and then I saw my doctor the same day. Oh, it even comes with alcohol cleansing pads to clean the attachments before and after use!

I'm a speech/language pathologist, so am trained in basic audiology. I have issues with chronic ear infections and love having this for its clear pictures of my middle ear and the ability to take a series of photos/videos to make decisions for care and compare for healing. However here's my caveat....absolutely NEVER, like not ever, use this to try to clean wax out of your ears. Never put anything in your ear, not even a q-tip. Your ears clean themselves naturally and inserting anything into them risks pushing wax too far back which will cause impaction, or worse yet, you may puncture your eardrum. If you see you have a problem with excessive wax, please go see a doctor to have it treated professionally.

I purchased this product because I have an Autistic son who has major wax buildup that, if left unattended, requires trips to the doctor/urgent care...which, to be frank, he does not handle well.
Pros: It is super easy to set it up with the app and within seconds my son was excited to see his ear on my phone (lol)...he was also disgusted. Watching me clean his ears via the phone kept him captivated and still.
The phone picture is crystal clear and the little light at the head of the tool works great to illuminate the entire area.
It comes with a nice zippered case for storing the tool and all accessories.
Cons: I don't know who has such short ear canals, but the tool is simply not long enough for my son's ears. I understand the shortness of the tool may have been deliberate for safety reasons, but if you/your child has long ear canals...it simply is too short.
Also, the removable tool heads can come off in the ear which can take some delicate work with tweezers to remove.
I would recommend this tool for small children and infants.
