I really loved this thing and, in all probability, I'll order another soon, but I was very disappointed when it broke after just 4 months. It has now stopped holding things in place and will sag heavily in one direction no matter how I position it.

I treated it very well, so that's unfortunate. But it was a big help after I had surgery to not have to hold my phone up to watch things. The only other bad thing about it was that it is not gentle on whatever you clip it to. It leaves an imprint on fabric headboards or even takes small chunks off of wood ones.

My wife has started a shop in ETSY. Of course that means I am now the unpaid photographer for her shop. We have made a small photo stand for taking images of the objects in her shop. One of the challenges of these photos is getting the lighting right. We have tried several different methods and had mixed success. The biggest problem is getting a light source in the right place to enhance a photo.

Then one day, I was poking around on Amazon and discovered the Lamicall Gooseneck Phone Holder. I realized the phone holder was just the right size to clamp onto one of the lights we use. Now I can place that light anywhere in the photo stand I need it. Unlike many goose neck holders this one is stiff enough to stay where you place it. It is long enough to reach just about anywhere and sturdy enough to not shake every time I bump into it. This is a well thought out and well constructed device.

We have been using a RNKWEN pinspot light. It is a mini LED that is cool enough, not to over heat the clamp. It has 18 different color selections and has a built in dimming feature in the remote.

I don't currently have a television in my room and I got tired of holding my phone to watch YouTube and streaming in bed, so I bought this. I attached it to my bed frame and now it's like having a mini TV in bed. The base and phone holder are both very sturdy, so I'm never worried about anything detaching. The neck is a little tough to adjust, but that's necessary so that it stays in place wherever you like. I also use it to hold my handheld gaming device when I want to play with a controller. No matter what device you are using, it will stay in place with the strength of the neck and silicon claw. My only gripe is that I wish I bought it sooner.

This device works well for mounting the smartphone from a shelf or headboard near the bed or easy chair. The screw/vice grip for the anchor point is strong and doesn't slip. The phone grip is solid, adjustable, and holds the phone securely. The goose neck is stiff, but this allows it to hold shape and position reliably.
