So my daughter just turned 5 and is tall for her age. Her height is 44 inches and we got the size indicated for her age group, S(5-6). The bathing suit portion fit nicely and upon first look the tail looked extremely long. However, it worked out nicely while giving room for her to use now with some wiggle room for the future.
