One of my joycons recently stopped responding as well I would like, making it pretty difficult to play any games. I decided to give repair a shot before replacement since it was so much cheaper. This set comes with everything you need to replace two joy sticks and it was pretty easy to do. The only trouble I had was that I wasn't sure if I had the ribbon cables plugged in all the way or if they just got stuck along the way. Once I got everything closed back up and tested it, I found that the joystick was pointing just barely to the upper left, enough to make a character turn that way, but not enough to make him move or to mess up menu selections. Recalibrating in the system menu fixed that and it has been working perfectly. Since there were two in the package, I have another ready to go if I need it for one of my other joycons.

This kit worked to solve the problem with controller drift on my son's Nintendo Switch. Saved me from having to buy new controllers! I used the linked video tutorial, watching it thru first was really helpful in making me feel prepared to actually start taking things apart. Had to find another video to guide me through fixing the 2nd contoller, since there were some slight differences between the left and right. I'm a novice at repairing electronics tech, and still found it relatively easy...the next time I have to do it (love that this came with another set since it's not if but when the drift returns!) I know it will go even easier. My son was thrilled when it worked, and this Mom earned some cool points for getting it done! Recommend!

The kit comes with all the tools to open the joycon. It is not that difficult and just take your time and you should able to complete the repair/replacement in about 10 minutes.

i bought my switch back in 2017 when it came out and immediately the joy cons was drifting. it was very bad! so bad that it was impossible to play games!! i thought about buying new joy cons but it was too expensive at $80 and there is no guarantees that the new ones would work. i also believe nintendo covered this up bc they claim there was no issues w/their joy cons. i call BS!!!! they lie!!! it is obvious that it's a design flaw. for yrs i suffered w/my drifting joycon and i decided to buy cheap 3rd party controllers and threw my joycons into a box. the 3rd party controllers worked fine but i still wanted to play w/my joy cons bc i do like them bc they feel good in my hands. it wasn't until i learned for youtubers about joycon replacements. i didn't even know they existed. so i bought these replacement joysticks and replaced my stock joysticks in my joycons. after doing that the drifts was gone! woohoo! i been testing it for over a week playing all my games w/out drifts!! im happy! this is what nintendo should have done, by releasing replacement joysticks but NOOO. im happy that these work and that i don't have to buy new joycons that would cost me $80!! i rather just buy the parts and fix it myself. much cheaper. i have taken apart game controllers before so it wasn't too difficult to replace the joysticks in my joycons. if you need help there are a ton of vidoes on youtube you can watch. it is not that hard to do.

Bought this 4 pack after our 8 year old broke 1 of the joysticks on his 1 week old Switch. So glad I bought the 4 because it turned out both were actually ruined. Swap was straight forward, if you replace screen protectors and know how to use a small screwdriver you can definitely use this kit. It had everything I needed and then some. It came with a bag of screws and spare parts but I just kept the originals. Took maybe 15 minutes. The qr code with the video link helped, you will not be disappointed.
