My only problem it with my weed eater. The cutter doesn't spoil. You can only use 8" at a time. Even though it's plastic coated steel line. It still desinigrates into smaller slices like any other product, but not as fast.

I used this in my Worx Mulcher as I found the string that comes from Worx was very weak. Replacing the string with this is a game changer it mulches the leaves smaller and last twice as long as the standard string. If you have a Mulcher get this it's much better. The one complaint I have is the packaging I have no clue how it works to get the string out properly. Also you will need some good shears to cut this string a utility blade doesn't do the job due to the steel.
Pretty good, but with a couple of snags...

I bought this to replace the plastic trimmer string in my Sun Joe leaf mulcher. This device is really a large horizontal strong trimmer with a hopper on top--pile the leaves into the hopper, turn on, and the spinning trimmer lines whack the leaves into little bits.
I found I was going through the plastic trimmer lines pretty quickly so I thought maybe a coated steel line would work better. Well it does. A bit.
Both the plastic and steel lines ended up getting short as the lines get cut down. The reason is pretty simple: the end is where the trimmer lines are moving fastest and, I think, doing a lot of the heavy-duty work, especially with twigs.
The plastic lines were lasting about 3-4 hopper loads, and the steel lines about 4-5. So maybe a 20% improvement.
The biggest problem I have is that the line does not feed out of its plastic container properly. I have to cut the lines to length (about 12") and I just could not get the line to feed out easily. So I ended up cutting it in the middle. Not a big deal, but a little annoying.
I was surprised that the steel line wasn't a lot better than the plastic.
BTW, I tried *uncoated* steel wire. Did not work Without the coating, the high-speed rotation unwinds the cable rendering it both much less effective.
