The little glass bird looks adorable on my back lanai, I put it into a large flower pot. It lights up at night but you can't necessarily see that it is a bird when it's dark. I liked it so much I purchased one for a friend's birthday present.

This is a beautifully made bird plus the pole it sits on. I am really pleased with it overall. The caveat is it really isn't very bright unless the bulb in mine is defective. I didn't want to send it back for that reason. It looks great in the daytime.
