It took a lot of filing down to make the key fit into the insert. I finally got that accomplished, but the key with the insert was a tight fit into the key fob. I cracked it when I tried to make it fit. I did get it all screwed together and it works! I'm using it very carefully.
One thing that happens now is that when I use the unlock button, my car does unlock but all the windows roll down too! I don't want that.
I ordered 2 more fobs to replace another key, but would love to have the updated version as I know I'll have the same issue with poor fit. And I'd like an answer as to how to prevent my windows from rolling down.
All that said, I'm glad I got the replacement fob, as Lexus wanted $70.

This is an excellent key fob replacement. I got a 2 pack because you never know I might drop my keys one too many times and crack it. But I have been using is for a while and it is excellent. Bought a used car that had the key fob super glued and wrapped in black tape, but still wiggled. I bought these and they work good. Took a long time chipping off the dried glue from the metal for it to fit right. It does seem to have thicker material than the original, so the buttons are slightly recessed, like other comments have stated. On my car, when you shut off the engine, you have to push the key in slightly, to move the switch to the off position, which is the original design of the car. I can see why it would be easy to break the plastic key fob, if you try to twist it hard without pushing the key in to rotate the switch properly.
