I got this because I was tired of waiting for Ring to integrate with Google Home Hub and the Swann was on sale for $100.
Pros vs Ring
- 2 days of free cloud clips for free vs paid subscription
- 7 days of on-device recording vs (paid) cloud only
- Integration with Google Home Hub/Assistant and Alexa vs Alexa only
- Lower sticker price at time of writing (even when not on sale)
- Different configurable modes (home, away, night) vs Ring's very limited snooze options
Cons vs Ring
- No option as of writing to snooze alerts but still record clips
- No option as of writing to change sensitivity of light to motion and it only seems to turn on when at close range
- No option as of writing to create custom motion zones for camera or light
- No integrations as of writing with non-Google/Amazon hubs (eg, SmartThings, Wink)
- No SAFE By Swann doorbell camera as of writing so would need a separate app for that

- Delay before clips are visible in activity log for both systems - maybe a local bandwidth issue
- No thumbnail pictures in Android alerts (can't speak to iOS)

Enhancement to the camera please

If the camera have way to set light to turn off when motion is detected that will be best. Sometime at night it will be good to have different mode that set light turn off or on.
And if we can select in the mobile app under camera where area of motion is trigger (like the Ring Floodlight camera do) that will be the best floodlight camera I see.

Love the camera. However it came with moisture inside the lense of camera but dried out and cleared up. Good picture. Good sound. Had too buy WiFi extender too get too hook up with WiFi. Other than that overall pretty happy. Way better than ring brand

Got this to replace a floodlight with motion detection that quit working covering our back driveway. Got a great deal and for the price this was great. It was easy to set up. It does take some adjusting the motion detection to suit your needs. When it comes up for sale again I want to get one to cover the backyard. The video quality is very good. I would definitely recommend.

App is worst ever encounter, does't connect the camera even in wi-fi environment you have to wait a minute for image to show, in cellular network forget about it, will not connect at all. I know what Swann will say is your Wi-Fi network, well I have another brand camera named Akaso which I have no issue connecting just placed in another side of the house. Easy to install but a nightmare after the installation to be able to view.
Coming back with review after a firmware update camera works as supposed to. Detect every movement connection is great.
