Good replacement for horrible redesigned Protechs.

I bought these because the brand I usually bought (Protech) changed their earplugs to a softer material (latex?) that doesn't work nearly as well as before. The Macks are similar to the old Protechs. They do seem a little shorter and slightly less effective. But they are certainly better than the new Protechs. I'll be buying these from now on.

I'd been using Flents white foam Quiet Please earplugs for about 20 years until they recently changed the "formula" of the foam, which made them super uncomfortable for me. I bought a few different brands to see if anything would be a good alternative, and these are the winner. The slightly open foam seems to work best for me. These are the perfect balance of firmness and softness.

These earplugs work well, but they are sort of a hybrid in between the old type foam ones and the newer silicone type ones (the latter which I am allergic to). They "look" like the old type (except for the new color), but they roll up like the silicone type. I just wish I could find the old foam-like kind, but I am beginning to think they don't make them anymore, can't find them anywhere.
