say goodby to broken mailbox post in the middle of winter!

Post sits 4 ft. back from road. My wooden post only sat 2 ft. back. Got broken in half by plow every 2 years like clockwork. Easy to install but i did have to cut a piece of plywood to mount the box on top. No biggie. Swivels around in a circle with ease.
Strong, Functional, and Easy Install

Need to replace our mailbox and wanted something that would stand up to winters in the rural Midwest. This mailbox was at our house very quickly and came with almost everything that you would need to install it. I ended up needing 4 screws with washers to attach the box to the post, but this would vary depending on your box. The instructions were fantastic and as someone with very limited experience with tools I was able to finish the whole install in less than an hour. My wife tested it out multiple times and the swivel action is smooth and it comes back to the correct position each time. The metal is thick, strong and sturdy. I have no doubt that this will last us for a very long time. Very impressed
Easy to install, seems sturdy.

It was easy to install. It took a quick couple measurements to seat the post in the correct spot and the job was done before I knew it. I won't know untill winter if it works with the blind plow guys we have but I think the past reviews speak for themselves. This is a one and done purchase.
Not as described and shown, in an important way

Pretty heavily built, the tube walls are pretty thick. I am surprised the galvanizing comes off on my hand though, I've never met that before with galvanizing. But there is an issue.
The pictures of the product show the U channel that you drive into the ground has the corners cut back to make it slightly pointed. Well, that's not how they actually made it. The end is completely square. That might not matter in the midwest where the soild is a hundred feet deep, but here in New Hampshire that's a big problem. And especially next to a road that was made with a generous width of road stone before they layed down the new blacktop. Driving this square end into the ground is going to be very difficult. I guess I could buy an angle grinder and knock the corners off myself. Pretty disappointing on something this expensive.

Short U post

I wouldn't consider the ditch where it was installed terribly deep (around 3ft to the bottom of the ditch), but the U post provided was too short for the job. I used an old sign post that was the same width and hole pattern. The unit itself was perfect, I just should have gotten the post extension they offered.
